Hi, I’m Mel and welcome to Remedied!
I'm a Remedial Massage Therapist and the owner of Remedied, a personalised home-based studio created to support people in reconnecting with their bodies and finding greater ease, wellbeing and resilience.
After more than 20 years working within the Allied Health and Medical industries, I felt called toward a more hands-on and meaningful way of helping others. In 2022, I opened Remedied and began what has become an ongoing journey of learning, growth and professional development.
While massage therapy was my starting point, my work has expanded to reflect a deeper understanding of how our physical health, nervous system and emotional wellbeing are interconnected. Alongside my qualifications in Remedial Massage, I have undertaken additional training in nervous system regulation, functional breathwork, fascial health and fitness, Manual Lymphatic Draining and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), allowing me to bring a more holistic and integrated approach to client care.
I believe that pain, tension, stress and fatigue are rarely just physical experiences. The body carries our habits, our experiences, our stress and our stories. Often, the tension we feel in our muscles, jaw, shoulders or chest is connected to a nervous system that has been working hard for a very long time.
This understanding shapes the way I work.
Whether you are seeking relief from pain, support with recovery, help managing stress, or simply a space to rest and reconnect, my goal is to create treatments that work with your body rather than against it. Every session is tailored to your unique needs and delivered with curiosity, compassion and respect for your individual experience.
My approach is grounded in the belief that wellbeing doesn't come from fixing ourselves. It comes from building awareness, developing a supportive relationship with our body, and creating opportunities for safety, rest, movement and connection.
Above all, I want Remedied to feel like a place where you can exhale. A place where you feel seen, supported and welcome exactly as you are.
I look forward to meeting you.
Mel
