Terms and Conditions of Booking

All clients booked and attending appointments with Remedied, whether in the studio, online or on the road, are required to acknowledge, understand and agree to the terms and conditions of booking as outlined below.

General

  • All services available at Remedied are provided by Melissa Johnstone, a trained health professional in Remedial Massage Therapy and other body-mind therapy modalities.

  • Our therapist is a member of the Association of Massage Therapy and a registered provider with private health insurance agencies, and holds current professional indemnity and public liability insurance cover.

  • Services provided at Remedied include relaxation, remedial, restorative massage therapy and group workshops. Our therapist will not and cannot provide any diagnostic service or supply any information about medications or supplements. 

  • All information and records relating to client treatment will be retained in line with all Australian State and Federal Laws and may be requested at any time. This information may be shared with my Private Health Fund for the sole purpose of verifying any claims made for that service. 

Bookings and Payments

  • Bookings are available online via the calendar, or via contact with Remedied.

  • Email notifications are sent to confirm bookings and appointment reschedules.

  • All new clients are required to complete the online information form a minimum of 2 days prior to their booking as confirmation and to maximise therapy time on the day.

  • Appointment reminders are sent 24 hours prior to all bookings via sms.

  • Payment is required at the completion of your treatment, via cash or card, with a receipt provided for clients to submit to their health insurance provider to access a rebate for any remedial treatments.

  • If a client is late for their booking, the treatment time will still end at the end of the booking.

  • Recurrent appointments can be organised with the therapist directly for regular appointments.

Cancellations and Reschedules

  • We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel, reschedule or change booking length for all studio appointments.

  • Appointment cancellations, reschedules or changes should be communicated directly with Remedied via sms or email.

  • Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within the 24 hours prior to the appointment time will incur a 50% (of your booked service) cancellation fee, which must be paid prior to rebooking.

  • Any no shows for appointments will incur a 100% (of your booked service) cancellation fee, which must be paid prior to rebooking.

Group Workshops

  • All group workshop tickets are non-refundable, cancellations are not accessible.

  • In the instance of unpredictable illness that is communicated in a timely manner, Remedied may consider offering the participant a credit or discount to a future workshop at their discretion.

  • Remedied is not liable for any physical, mental or emotional distress that may arise during the workshop or programs facilitated. All clients consent to program participation and completion and are recommended to seek medical or mental health support for any significant trauma history presentation or any situations that may be triggered as a result of the workshop/programs.

  • All group workshops and programs are facilitated within the professional scope of Remedied.

  • No guarantees are made by Remedied for outcome of participants to programs or workshops. While the methodology and practices introduced are likely to provide a positive experience and outcome, there is no claim to reset, resolve or release trauma, emotions or stress.

  • All participants choose to join the group/workshop willingly, and are to monitor their personal involvement and completion of exercises or practices within their comfort and boundaries. Alternative movements will be suggested as needed with encouragement for clients to cease an action or exercise at any sign of distress and seek professional help.

Client Information

  • All information requested by Remedied is required by law, or by professional association standards and must be provided in order to access services. This includes but is not limited to; full name, birth date, home address, contact number, email, emergency contact name and number, medical and health history, and medications/vitamins taken. Clients are responsible for the accuracy of all information provided.

  • All personal information held by Remedied is treated as private and confidential, and is used solely by Remedied Massage Therapy and is not disclosed to other parties.

  • Personal information may be used to inform clients about services of interest by way of email or sms, as agreed to with your booking agreement. Client details will be removed from the contact list upon request.

Personal Conduct

  • In the instance of illness, clients experiencing any symptoms that may be related to a cold, flu or covid, a viral or bacterial illness (including but not limited to a sore throat, cough, runny nose, fever, aches or other respiratory symptoms) must not attend the studio, and are to advise Remedied of the need to cancel or reschedule with as much notice as possible.

  • Massage therapy will not be provided to clients with a contraindicated condition or situation including but not limited to treatments within 6 weeks post operation, within 24 hours of international travel, high risk early pregnancies without medical clearance, or currently will with an infectious/contagious condition. Remedied is entitled to cancel any treatments that are at risk of a client health and safety, and will discuss this directly with the relevant client.

  • Underwear must be worn at all times, and throughout the duration of the massage. Requests for massage without underwear will result in the termination of treatment and future bookings.

  • This is a professional service with a strict code of conduct. Inappropriate commentary, innuendo, sexual harassment or intimidation of either a physical or verbal nature will not be tolerated, and will result in the immediate termination of any treatments underway and all future bookings, with serious offences reported to the local Police. 

Complaints

  • It is the intention of Remedied to provide clients with a high level of customer service at all times, with an inclusive and respectful environment. However, if you are dissatisfied at any time, please contact us directly.

  • All complaints will be taken seriously and treated as according to current best practice guidelines.
